Special Hammocks
Roman arc hammocks are some of the most artful and elegant hammocks available. The roman arc hammock stand is distinctive and durable. The hammock stand supports both sides of the hammock with a large, swooping arc that takes each side of the hammock and attaches it to ropes. The architecture and smooth arcing curves are offered in two styles - each is highly distinctive.

The Original Roman Arc stand is crafted from eight layers of laminated cypress wood while the Roman Arc II is made of 5 layers. Both versions are identically designed for easy assembly and the curved sections of the stand all stack neatly for compact storage when disassembled, if desired. The roman are stand is the highest end stand available.

It is recommended that the wood -- which is unfinished natural cypress -- be treated once a year with a water repellent to preserve the beautiful yellow color of cypress. If untreated the wood also turns to an equally beautiful gray and hardens for long wear. Both stands are extremely rigid and sturdy and will far exceed the necessary 450 lb weight rating for the hammock.

Roman arc hammock stands are not cheap. Each of these stands can cost much more than traditional hammock stands to purchase. However, the aesthetic benefit that an owner of this type of hammock stand derives can be well worth the cost. These types of stands are also some of the most sturdy and elegant available.
