Hammocks for the Living Room
Having a hammock in your home is easier than you think, and is the perfect way to add that special little retreat to a corner of your living room. There are a wide variety of hammock options for inside the home. As long as there is enough available space, you can mount almost any hammock inside your house. Consider locations such as that sunny corner where you have your plants enjoying the sun. Just imagine a hammock mounted diagonally across that space to create an island atmosphere. Picture yourself swinging in your hammock, sunlight on your face and lush, and green plants around you.

There are so many ways to mount a hammock in your home, on a hammock stand, mounted on walls or from support beams, or hanging from your ceilings. Simply decide which style of hammocks you prefer and go from there. If you prefer a traditional Mayan hammock, you can go with cotton rope with no problem when mounting it indoors. Without weather considerations to contend with, you may make your decision based on comfort alone. Cotton is the softest, most comfortable hammock material available, and you will have very little problems with fading or weakening of the material when indoors. If you have a larger space, a hammock with spreader bars will work and the wooden spreaders will add a fine furniture feel to the hammock.

If you have a smaller space or prefer the embracing feel of a Mayan hammock, there are many to choose from, and these can easily be hung out of the way by simply taking down one side and hanging that ring with the other side whenever you need the space. Hammock chairs are also another option that is attractive for smaller spaces. Mounted with to only one point, suspended from the ceiling, a hammock chair takes the least amount of space and still provides exceptional comfort.

In most cases, the mounting hardware needed for indoor mounting is standard and can be used in drywall or wood surfaces, just be sure to find the studs! If you are mounting in masonry, however, be sure, you find the masonry mounting components you will need. Anywhere you put a hammock indoors will surely become a haven to retreat to, whether to read a magazine, take a nap or simply enjoy some down time.
